Lee Roy Selmon's existence is one of football scholarship, family service and involvement in the community. The first time the Selmons were raised with Lucious Semon and his wife Jessie. They lived on an agricultural property near Eufala located in Oklahoma as the youngest of their nine children. Another reason for his football career was that he is the youngest of three brothers who played for Oklahoma. Three brothers all made All-Americans. Lucious Jr. Dewey was a starter for the entire 1973 season. Lee Roy won the Outland and Lombardi Awards as the nation's best lineman. In his time as the starting quarterback for Oklahoma and Sooners' starting quarterback, they went 32-1-1 and won two national titles. In 1975, the National Football Foundation named him a Scholar-Athlete for the third time in the year 1975. Selmon received a bachelor's degree from the University of California at Berkeley. Fourth year of college Lee Roy devoted ten hours every week for volunteer activities. After college he settled in Tampa playing nine years for the Buccaneers played the all-pro 3 times, and began a business career. His first job was as a Account Relations Officer with First Florida Bank, Tampa. He has worked previously for the Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. In 1982, the Junior Chamber of Commerce honored his name in 1982, as among the top 10 young men in the US. As a student, Lee Roy was 6-2 and weighs a little over 256 lbs. He coached his university team in the year 1975. In 1993, he was a part of at the University of South Florida as the associate director of athletics. He was named associate director of athletics by the College Football Hall of Fame named his in the year 1988. GTE Academic All-America Hall of Fame, in 1994. Pro Football Hall of Fame, in 1995. In 1989 the Oklahoma City Chapter National Football Foundation awarded its Distinguished American Award Mr. Lucious Jr. Henry Bellmon is the Oklahoma governor, who presented this award.
